An Evening of Legacy

On February 29, 2020, the Living for Zachary Family gathered at the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel for the 10th annual HeartBeats Gala.  The energy in the room was palpable as we reflected on the lives changed in the last decade, honored the Legacies of those who have been lost to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), and resolved to continue the fight until every child is saved and every family has the tools they need to prevent this tragedy.  It was a night of emotion, remembrance, and solidarity – but most of all, it was a night filled with hope.

The beautiful Legacy Ballroom welcomed guests to the 10th annual HeartBeats Gala.

Over the course of the evening, guests had the opportunity to hear from individuals impacted by Living for Zachary over the last ten years, dine on delicious food, participate in exciting live and silent auctions, win raffle prizes, and dance the night away to tunes from Limelight.  Through it all, we were reminded of why we filled the the Legacy Ballroom that night: to carry forward Zac Schrah’s Legacy into the future as a team as we save lives through youth heart screenings, AED donations, and CPR training.

From our incredibly generous sponsors to the hundreds working behind the scenes, so many hearts and hands contributed to make the 2020 HeartBeats Gala a success.  To all who dedicated their time, talents, energy and resources towards this evening of Legacy: thank you for your commitment to Living for Zachary’s mission.  We would especially like to thank Gala Co-Chairs Jeff and Rhiannon Bolen and Dr. Dennis and Beth Gable for their tireless work to make this an unforgettable evening for all in attendance.

SCA survivor Virginia Krejci shared her family’s powerful story and passion for placing AEDs in youth-based organizations across Texas.

Thank you to all who gave so generously during the HeartBeats Gala to move Living for Zachary’s mission forward.  Our team is strong, and together we will make an even greater impact on children and their families in the next decade.
