It’s June and it’s a busy month for us at Living for Zachary! We have many exciting events this month celebrating CPR/AED Awareness Month! One specific event we are thrilled to be a part of is our Walgreens fundraiser. This is our third year partnering with several Walgreens locations to collect donations at the register from June 14 to June 30. All of the money raised will go toward providing FREE Living for Zachary Heart Screenings at specific Walgreens locations in July and August.
The “Living for Zachary Heart Screening” is a special screening program created for youth ages 12-22 that can help detect heart abnormalities that may lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This non-invasive screening package includes: Electrocardiogram, Limited screening Echocardiogram, Blood pressure screening, SCA Risk Health Questionnaire (AHA recommended), and screening reviewed and interpreted by a board-certified cardiologist.
By providing youth with heart screenings, we can help find a heart condition that was not previously detected with a student physical. Camden Thrailkill, a 15-year-old teen from Denton, is an example of a young athlete who always strived to be unstoppable when it came to sports. Camden had a Living for Zachary Heart Screening and was told he had a heart condition that needed to be corrected with surgery. Today, Camden continues to play baseball like any other normal kid. His life was saved because of the Living for Zachary Heart Screening he received.
Now it’s your chance to help out with our cause. Stop by any of the Walgreens locations on this list and donate at the register! We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with Walgreens in order to provide heart screenings to youth this summer!
