During this uncertain time in North Texas, the United States and our world, the Living for Zachary Team knows families in our community will have multiple needs in the upcoming weeks. As a Team that believes we are strongest when we stand ready to assist one another, we are happy to share with you a few resources that may be helpful to your family or those you know.
If you need:
1. Food for your children while they are out of school
Nourished students are happy and healthy students! Many North Texas school districts are responding to nutrition needs while kids are out of school by providing grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options. School districts have varying methods of doing this, so be sure to check with your district to ensure you can take advantage of this service in the easiest way possible. For a list of school districts who have announced meal services and details, click here. If you do not see your district listed, be sure to call them directly to find out what options they are offering.
In response to our community’s evolving health crisis, the North Texas Food Bank has a variety of options available across North Texas for those needing nutritious, healthy meals for their family. To find a location providing food closest to you, please utilize the North Texas Food Bank’s Searchable Map.
2. Activities to keep your kids (and yourself!) engaged and energized at home
We know it can be a challenge to provide a healthy and active environment at home for kids while you balance work, household, and hundreds of other responsibilities. Thankfully, many businesses are providing creative ways for families to remain active and intellectually stimulated in the weeks ahead at no cost to you. Try out one of these resources, or try them all and let us know what your family thinks!
