Is your organization prepared to prevent and respond to a cardiac emergency on campus?
WHAT IS THE SUPERHEART PROGRAM?
A semester-program that focuses on SCA prevention and response designed to equip youth-based organizations with the tools and resources needed to save lives from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA is reported as the leading cause of death on school campuses and the #1 killer of student athletes. [1] In response, Living for Zachary is committed to creating safer environments for students, staff, faculty, and families through a approach that positively impacts each member during the program duration.
INCLUDED FOR SUPERHEART SITES:
- Opportunity for students 12-22 years to receive a free heart screening
- Service of current AEDs on campus and replacement of batteries and pads, if needed
- Additional AEDs awarded to meet a 3-minute “drop-to-shock” response time from anywhere on campus
- CPR/AED certification training for staff
- Student CPR demonstrations
- Opportunity to receive a SaveStation AED tower to be placed in a highly visible, outdoor location on campus to house an AED
- Guided support in creation of a Hero Team and Hero Plan (cardiac emergency response plan) to be dispatched in the event of a cardiac event on campus
- Fun Red Out awareness event
- Sudden cardiac arrest education event for students and families

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Located in North Texas (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Parker, Rockwall or Tarrant county)
- Serving students ages 12-22
- Display a need for the resources offered by the program
Eligible organizations may apply to be considered for the SuperHeart Program for the Fall or Spring semester.
