The Hands and Feet of a Mission: A Message of Thanks to our Volunteers

At Living for Zachary, we are on a constant mission to defeat sudden cardiac arrest in youth – and a mission this big requires a big, devoted team.   At our core, Living for Zachary is a team of community members passionate about making a difference for youth across Texas, and the hundreds of volunteers who join us each year are the hands and feet that ensure more lives are saved with each passing year.  In celebration of Volunteer Appreciation Week 2020, we are thrilled to honor the 2019 Living for Zachary volunteers who made the mission possible in 2019.

Here are just a few ways Living for Zachary Volunteers turned our mission to action in 2019:

  • Welcoming families to their youth heart screening appointments
  • Traveling across North Texas to awareness events each month to share important information with the community on sudden cardiac arrest
  • Checking in Heart Heroes at CPR/AED training events
  • Serving appetizers at Bingo Night
  • Helping out at the Living for Zachary office with clerical work, organization, and event prep
  • Interning during the summer of 2019
  • Serving on the Board of Directors or a committee
  • Setting up, welcoming guests, and assisting with checkout during the HeartBeats Gala

To all volunteers who joined us in 2019: your passion for saving lives shines through with every child you help, family you welcome, and encouraging word you give.  You have selflessly dedicated your time week after week and month after month to ensure more families are protected from sudden cardiac arrest, and thousands have been impacted because of your work.  We simply couldn’t what we do without you.  You are the hands and feet that will keep us moving forward until every child is saved.  From the Living for Zachary Family to you, thank you.
